Hi, I’m Chris, a BACP-registered therapist with more than ten years’ experience supporting people through anxiety, overwhelm, and the kinds of inner struggles that do not always show on the outside.
So many people move through life without feeling fully seen, or without being given the space to be themselves without judgement. I do this work because I believe everyone deserves that kind of space — especially in a world that doesn’t always make it easy to slow down and be real.
How I approach therapy
My approach is grounded in person-centred values. This means supporting you to understand yourself and your experiences more deeply, work through the challenges you are facing, and move towards what matters to you.
You do not need to arrive with a plan — or even the right words — to begin therapy with me. Some clients bring a clear goal or difficulty, while others simply know that something feels off and want space to explore it.
You might want to pause and reflect, make sense of a recurring pattern, explore ways of coping or simply feel heard. There is no single right way to “do” therapy. My client-led approach means that we work together to discover what feels most useful for you and what a way forward might look like.
My background and experience
My background and experience include working in a range of mental health support roles, including an NHS day centre, with the charity Mind and in community services supporting teenagers navigating challenging environments.
I have also counselled primary school children through the charity Place2Be, which deepened my understanding of how our early environments can shape the ways we understand ourselves, relate to others and experience the world as adults.
Since 2020, my therapy practice has been fully online, and I have supported clients from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures and life experiences. My training and client work have shaped the way I understand mental health today: not simply as a collection of symptoms to be treated, but as an ongoing process of self-understanding, growth and reconnecting with what makes life feel meaningful.
What sessions with me are like
Therapy with me is gentle, steady and collaborative. I bring a calm presence, quiet encouragement and a belief that meaningful change becomes possible when we feel safe enough to stop performing, slow down and reconnect with a more authentic sense of ourselves.
Clients often tell me that I am patient, thoughtful and easy to talk to. I will not rush you, over-interpret what you share or try to “fix” you. I will listen closely, reflect back what I hear and gently support you in making sense of things at your own pace — including the parts that feel messy, unclear or difficult to name.
Many clients have shared that they feel calmer, more grounded and better able to cope after our sessions. I never take that for granted, and it remains a powerful reminder of what can become possible when we have space to be heard and understood.
Ways we can meet and work together
I offer online therapy by video, phone or live chat. You can choose the format that feels most comfortable and change it at any time. Some people value the connection of video; others find it easier to speak without being seen; and some prefer the quieter pace of writing. There is no right format — only what works best for you.

However we meet and work together, you’ll be welcomed with care, calm attention and respect for whatever you’re carrying.
Confidentiality and boundaries
Therapy works best when it feels safe. I work within the BACP Ethical Framework, which includes maintaining clear boundaries around time, privacy and the therapeutic relationship. These boundaries help protect the space and keep it focused on your needs.
What you share with me is treated as confidential. I would only need to consider sharing information if I had serious concerns about your immediate safety or someone else’s – and wherever possible, I would aim to discuss this with you first.
You can read more about the practical side of working together in my Therapy Agreement.
Taking the next step
If you are thinking about beginning therapy — or simply wondering whether it might help — I offer a free 15-minute introductory call. This gives us an opportunity to talk briefly, ask questions and get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit.
You are also welcome to contact me using my enquiry form if writing feels like a more comfortable first step.
There is no obligation — just an open space to ask questions, talk things through and see what feels right for you.
Not quite ready to reach out?
You may not feel ready for therapy, or you might prefer to begin by exploring things privately and in your own time. With this in mind, I have created some free resources to help you take that first step…
- If therapy is something you are considering, you might find my Starting Where You Are series helpful. I wrote it especially for people who are new to therapy or uncertain about what beginning therapy might involve.
- My Wellbeing Map is a free reflective workbook designed to help you notice what steadiness looks like for you, what tends to knock you off track, and what supports you when things feel hard.
