About Me

Hi, I’m Chris — a BACP-registered therapist with over 10 years’ experience helping people through anxiety, burnout, low self-esteem, and the kind of inner struggles that don’t always show on the outside.

Therapy with me is gentle and grounded. I bring calm presence, quiet encouragement, and the belief that real change becomes possible when we feel safe enough to stop performing, slow down, and say things out loud — even when they feel messy or uncertain.

Clients often tell me I’m patient, thoughtful, and easy to talk to. I don’t rush, I don’t over-interpret — and I won’t try to ‘fix’ you. What I will do is walk alongside you as a fellow life traveller, helping make sense of what’s going on, at your pace. Being invited into someone’s inner world is a privilege and not something I ever take lightly.

A bit about my background

During my training, I worked in a variety of mental health support roles — in an NHS day centre, with the charity Mind, and in community services supporting teens navigating chaotic or unsafe environments. Those early experiences shaped everything about how I work now: with respect, emotional steadiness, and a willingness to stay with the hard stuff, however long it takes.

As I continued in the field, I became increasingly drawn to mental health recovery — not just as treatment, but as a process of self-understanding, growth, and reconnecting with what makes life feel meaningful. I facilitated groups using WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Planning), where the focus was on building personalised, practical ways for people to support their emotional wellbeing. The core WRAP values — hope, personal responsibility, self-advocacy, and empowerment — really resonated with me, and still inform the way I approach therapy. I also undertook further training to work with children, and for three years supported pupils one-to-one through Place2Be in a primary school — deepening my understanding of how early relationships and environments shape us, and how meaningful it can be to return to those experiences later in life with care and curiosity.

Since 2020, I’ve moved my practice fully online — offering therapy privately and through BetterHelp. In that time, I’ve supported over 200 clients from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences. Many have shared that they feel calmer, more grounded, and better able to cope after our sessions — something I never take for granted. Whether it’s helping someone manage anxiety, build self-trust, or simply feel less alone, I’m continually reminded of how powerful this work can be.

What draws me to this work

So many people move through life without ever feeling fully seen — or given the space to just be themselves without judgment. I do this work because I believe everyone deserves that kind of space — especially in a world that doesn’t always make it easy to slow down and be real.

I find real meaning in offering people the kind of empathy and presence that can be hard to come by elsewhere. My work with clients has shown me that when someone starts to feel heard, understood, and no longer alone with what they’re carrying — something shifts. Things start to feel a little less tangled, a little more manageable – and from there, change starts to feel possible.

It’s a reminder, every time, of how much can open up when we feel safe enough to be honest with ourselves. That’s what keeps me showing up — and what gives me lasting belief in the process of therapy.
