Work With Me

Therapy with me is calm, steady, and collaborative. You don’t need to arrive with a clear plan — or even the right words — to begin. Some clients talk things through, others take their time to reflect. Some want tools or coping strategies, while others simply need space to be heard.

Whatever brings you here, we go at your pace. There’s no pressure to perform, and no expectations to be “fixed.” This is a space to explore things honestly and gently — even the parts that feel messy, unclear, or hard to name.

Working alongside you, like a co-pilot, we’ll find the way forward together.

Session formats

I offer online therapy via Video, Phone, or Live Chat — whatever feels most comfortable for you. You can choose the format that suits you best, and switch at any time.

Video

A face-to-face connection, from the comfort of your own space

Phone

No screen, no pressure – just time to talk it through

Live Chat

A quieter, real-time way to share what’s on your mind

Some people like the focus of voice or text. Others prefer being seen. There’s no right way — just what works for you.

Private therapy or BetterHelp?

You can work with me in two ways — either privately, or through the online platform BetterHelp. Both options include the same session formats (Video, Phone, or Live Chat) and my same calm, collaborative approach.

Private Therapy

  • More flexibility — sessions can be weekly, fortnightly, or monthly
  • 60-minute sessions via secure Zoom
  • £50 per session, or £350 for a block of 10 (saving £150)
  • Concessionary rate of £35 per session available for people on low income, people with a disability, students or trainee counsellors

BetterHelp

  • Subscription-based model, with pricing set by BetterHelp
  • Weekly 45-minute sessions
  • Includes optional in-app messaging and tools

It’s okay if you’re not sure which option fits best — feel free to reach out with any questions.

Confidentiality & boundaries

Therapy works best when it feels safe. Everything you share with me is held in confidence — I won’t discuss it with anyone else, unless I’m concerned about your immediate safety or someone else’s (which I would always aim to speak with you about first).

I work within the ethical framework of the BACP, which includes keeping clear boundaries around time, privacy, and the therapeutic relationship. This helps protect the space and keep it focused on your needs.

Please note: I don’t offer crisis support. If you’re in immediate danger or need urgent help, I’ll signpost you to the right support.

What to expect from sessions

There’s no right way to “do” therapy — and no pressure to come in with everything figured out. Some clients bring a clear goal or issue, while others just know that something feels off and want space to explore it.

Sessions are led by you. I’ll listen closely, reflect back what I hear, and gently support you in making sense of things at your own pace. Some people want space to talk things through. Others appreciate the chance to pause, reflect, or explore practical strategies together.

When it feels helpful, I may draw on tools and ideas from approaches like CBT, mindfulness, compassion-focused work, or mental health recovery models. These can help make sense of patterns, build self-awareness, or support emotional regulation — but we’ll only use what feels right for you.

However we work, you’ll be met with care, calm presence, and respect for whatever you’re carrying.

If therapy is something you are contemplating, I invite you to check out my “Starting Where You Are” series of reflections, which I wrote with people who might be new to therapy in mind.

Next Steps…

If you’re thinking about starting therapy — or just wondering if it might help — I offer a free 15-minute intro chat so we can see if we feel like a good fit.

You can also choose to work with me via BetterHelp, if that feels like a more comfortable way to begin.

There’s no obligation — just an open space to ask questions, talk things through, and see what feels right for you.
